About Me

Zimbabwean based Ruvimbo Mapanda professionally known as Raven Duchess is a Jazz and Afro folk contemporary singer/songwriter/ MC. A poet at heart, her solo career began in 2013 after she had worked with some of the best Zimbabwean spoken word artists. Her jazzy voice and fusion of Afro folk music has enabled her to tell African stories with a Jazz and contemporary fusion. Raven has collaborated with artists from Kenya, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, UK, Germany and some of the best Zimbabwean musicians. Raven specializes in performing at corporate events (Old Mutual, Stanbic Bank and chamber of mines, NMB bank, Nestlè, Nissan Navara, Ernst and Young) festival performances (HIFA, Miombo Magic, Afro fest Canada) weddings, private cocktail events and anniversaries. From ancient Afro folk music to classic jazz, her music takes you on a spiritual journey. Her debut Album Ethno Vibes which is available on all streaming platforms is an alternative music compilation with fusion of world music, jazz, reggae and blues. Raven is a mental health advocate.
