Ignatius T. Mabasa
Dr Ignatius T. Mabasa is a journalism, media and creative writing and lecturer at University of Zimbabwe, Harare. His doctoral research is an autoethnography focusing on Shona storytelling and its transformation from 1890 when Zimbabwe was colonised by the British. He is an author of both English and Shona academic and literary works, including award-winning novels like Mapenzi (1999), Ndafa Here? (2008), Imbwa Yemunhu (2013) and Ziso reZongororo (2021). In 2010, his short story The Market Superman won in a South African writing competition. In 2017 his animated folktale Chipo neChipopayi won Best Short Film award at the Zimbabwe International Film Festival.

Koshesa munhu wemukati,

Koshesa mhuri, nyika, rudo, nduramo, kuzvininipisa, mwoyo murefu, 

Koshesa kushanda nesimba, kuvimbika, kubatsira vamwe, kuzvibata 

Pfeka hunhu kwete wigi.
