Sculpted Busts of Historical western figures such as Churchill and Lincoln line the halls of the West-Wing and Oval-office while remnants of the, by -gone British Empire are celebrated in similar fashion across the United Kingdom.  Zimbabwean historic figures such as Nehanda, Makoni and Mapondera are only now being represented in a similar fashion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, we Zimbabwean artists are yet to enter the practice of capturing and preserving the likenesses of our forerunners and placing them in our hallowed buildings and museums.  The motivation behind this piece is to bring digitally sculpted busts like this one into the mainstream. Despite using inaccessible 3D modeling tools to sculpt this piece, the hope is to 3d print and share physical versions of it widely and cheaply.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
