but they cannot silence the echoing voice<\/p>\n\n\n\n
of a living ancestress<\/p>\n\n\n\n
who breeds defiance in her womb,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
never bowing before imposed gods<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and the creeds of their false prophets<\/p>\n\n\n\n
raising whirlwinds of rage<\/p>\n\n\n\n
even at the threshold of death\u2019s door<\/p>\n\n\n\n
invoking dead bones back to life<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to wage transgenerational wars<\/p>\n\n\n\n
that give rise to new and necessary liberations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They cannot drown out the insistent voice<\/p>\n\n\n\n
of a high priestess<\/p>\n\n\n\n
performing her loudest and most deafening ritual<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in the hour of her greatest oppression<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in her moment of finality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They may kill the form<\/p>\n\n\n\n
but the spirit keeps rising<\/p>\n\n\n\n
