About Me

Elton Mjanana is a writer and producer for TV, theatre and Film also with considerable experience writing radio drama since 2001. Farai started off in the arts as an actor way back in 1995 in films such as ‘Flame’ (1996, Ingrid Sinclair). In 1999 he wrote his first ever play in a trio of writers featuring other notables like Andrew Whaley and Dylan Wilson-Max. The play was ‘Ivhu vs. the State (1999, Rooftop Promotions) which toured extensively around Zimbabwe and ended up at the Fringe of the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. Farai worked as 1st AD for numerous short films under the Short Film Project of the Zimbabwe International Film and Festical Trust, an organisation whose Film Festival, the Zimbabwe International Film Festival (ZIFF) he went on to curate for 4 years between 2013 - 2016. For TV, his credits include The Team (2012, Rumbi Katedza/Search For Conmon Ground) a 13 part series he co-wrote with 2 other writers. Farai now lives full time in the UK and has attained a Cetificate with the National Film and Televsion School (NFTS) for the TV Series Bible Creation Course tutored by Peter Ansorge.
